LANGKATODAY - Hamas has announced a ceasefire agreement, ending a 15-month Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip. The agreement, hailed as a major victory, comes after immense sacrifices by the Palestinian people and their steadfast resistance.

Hamas described the ceasefire as the result of the unwavering resilience of Palestinians and their brave fighters in Gaza. The deal marks a pivotal moment in the struggle against Israeli occupation, paving the way for liberation and the return of Palestinian rights.

Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas leader in Gaza, addressed the nation, expressing deep pride in Gaza’s resistance. He praised the people for enduring immense pain and sacrifices, saying, “You upheld your duty with unmatched courage and dignity.”

Hamas also extended gratitude to all those who supported Gaza during the Israeli assault. They commended Arab, Islamic, and international solidarity efforts, highlighting the vital roles of mediators, particularly Qatar and Egypt, in securing the agreement.

Dr. Al-Hayya paid tribute to the thousands of martyrs, including children, women, elders, doctors, journalists, and rescue workers, who gave their lives in defense of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. He also honored the fallen leaders of Hamas, such as Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, and Saleh Al-Arouri, who led with courage until their last moments.

Al-Hayya highlighted the significance of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation, launched on October 7, 2023. He called it a military and security triumph, demonstrating the capabilities of the Qassam Brigades. “This operation struck the enemy deeply and will remain a source of pride for generations to come,” he stated.

The senior leader condemned Israel’s crimes during the 467-day offensive, describing them as “genocidal, inhumane, and reminiscent of Nazi crimes.” He declared that these atrocities will remain etched in history as one of the darkest chapters of modern times.

Hamas affirmed its commitment to the struggle for liberation, vowing to continue the path of resistance until Palestinians reclaim their rights and their homeland. Al-Hayya concluded, “This agreement is not the end but a step toward a brighter future for our people. Victory is on the horizon.”
