Dow Futures Slip Following Oil Surge, JOLTs in Focus

Finance Today - U.S. stock futures ticked lower during Monday's evening trade following a mixed session as spiking oil prices boosted major energy companies.

By 6:35pm ET (10:35pm GMT) Dow Jones Futures and S&P 500 Futures declined 0.1% apiece while Nasdaq 100 Futures lost 0.2%.

Ahead in Tuesday's session, market participants will be looking toward fresh factory orders and JOLTs Job Openings data as well as speeches from Fed Governor Cook and the FOMC's Rosengren.

During Monday's regular trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 327 points or 1% to 33,601.2, the S&P 500 gained 15.2 points or 0.4% to 4,124.5 while the NASDAQ Composite fell 32.5 points or 0.3% to 12,189.5.

Meanwhile, energy companies outperformed as Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE:XOM) lifted 5.9%, Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) added 4.4%, Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE:DVN) gained 5.3%, Diamondback Energy Inc (NASDAQ:FANG) advanced 6.6%, and ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) popped 9.3%.

On the bond markets, United States 10-Year rates were at weekly lows of 3.413%.
